Vintage Humeral Veil White Satin Sacred Monogram IHS Couched Thread Gold Sequins

Humeral Veils were auxiliary vestments traditionally used with the Cope at Benediction services or in processions in the Roman Catholic Church.
This a is a particularly beautiful one, made of shimmering pure white satin and lined in pale gold silk, with a magnificent center image on its back front: the Sacred Monogram of the Name of Jesus (I H S) in raised metallic gold couched thread, surrounded by a radiance of gold embroidered sequins. The whole vestment piece is edged in metallic gold trim, with rich metallic gold fringe at either end. Note also the two hand pocket liners sewn into the interior portion on either side, and the gilded metal morse system, (the clasp and chain) which holds the veil in place across the shoulders when in use.
The humeral veil measures approx. 104“ long, (about 8.6 feet, not including the 2“ wide fringe) and is 23“ wide.
This is vintage circa 1950s in age, if not older- probably made in France or Quebec, Canada. It was donated from a Canadian parish to a religious community in my areal, proceeds from the sale going to help support their missionary activities, thus it is used, but quite gently- and is graded in Fine condition: quite perfect, but for one or two very light oil stains noted on the interior lining only, a collectible vintage liturgical fabric piece.
